what’s cooking? good looking!
It all begins with an idea.
This is one of the first cakes I made in 2014. Although my Facebook page says I have made 172 cakes, I think we have made more than that as I haven’t really photographed everything that we have made.
I was a full time registered nurse then. A full time single mum of two growing boys struggling to balance work and life. I thought that baking would be a great activity for the three of us when we are at home. We have then ventured into buying some cake decorating tools, tried different cake bases, tried different frostings.
I was a self taught bake and cake decorator , thanks to my bestfriend Jacqui who keeps sending me recipes to try but then we experimented on some cakes that were really successful and became the most requested desserts during get togethers.
The base of this cake is a lemon vanilla sponge with a cream cheese frosting.
